For 2009 we have been eventing Next to Nothing and Native Caption. So far all has gone well NIcky (Next to Nothing) won at Llanymenech and was 4th at Rodbaston. Donald (Native Caption) was 2nd at Eland Lodge and Wolverhampton and 4th at Rodbaston. Unfortunately Donald has been missing his mother, Karen had a fall from another horse earlier in the year and fractured her collar bone in 3 places and is still unable to event him at the moment. Luckily Tania has been happy to step in !

Risington competed in his first hunter trial at Eland Lodge which he won. Carol-Anne Boulton competed on Dunston Trigger where she came 2nd and Helen Gannon rode Forever an Investment (Fizz) and came 5th ! A good day !

Schuh Shine has competed at a couple of affiliated dressage competitions. He came 2nd at Heart of England,( which Donald won ! ) and he won at Field House where Fizz was 2nd ( this time ridden by Brittany Davenport ) and Trigger was 4th ! Donald has also competed at several affiliated dressages. He won twice at Heart of England and also won Field House.

Schuh Shine, Trigger and Fizz have all been placed at several pony club and riding club horse trials.

They will all be competing in the Tri Zone at Stafford in July, which Nicky won last year, with Fizz 5th.

I think our best achievement so far this year was at Cheshire County where Karen rode Donald in the Retrained racehorse to riding horse class. They were placed 2nd and qualified for Hickstead in 2010. So as well as eventing, affiliated dressage, he now adds showing to his list of achievements ! He was also placed 6th at Osbaldeston in his first qualifier for HOYS.

Schuh Shine and Dunston Trigger both competed at the BE80(T) at Stafford in July this year, despite the terrible weather, ye olde faithful horsebox of 26 yrs old did not need to be towed onto the show ground (many newer ones did!) - Tania and Schuh Shine had a double clear and finished 5th in their section and Carol-Anne Boulton and Dunston Trigger had their best dressage of the season and a double clear to push them into 2nd place. So with Next to Nothing and Native Caption having competed at Stafford BE90 on the Friday, gaining 4th and 1st place respectively, this meant that over that weekend, we had 4 horses all within the top 5 places, all of them ex-racehorses. We were very proud of all our boys.

Fizz has now been sold to Brittany Davenport, we hope that they enjoy many years of good fun together!

To round off the year, we were delighted to have been informed that Donald won the 2009 SEIB ROR performance award for affiliated dressage. So Karen will be off to London again to collect their award ( having won the eventing section in 2007 & 2008 ).

Tania came 2nd on Donald and 3rd on Nicky in the SEIB ROR performance award for affilated eventing and Carolanne came 7th on Trigger in the combined training.
